For the fifth year, Birmingham View Magazine has teamed up with Urbanham.com to bring the latest edition of The Classic Event Guide, featuring the best places to socialize, party, dine and play in Birmingham for the 72nd Annual Magic City Classic, sponsored by State Farm.
Our new media partners in this annual guide now include W.N. Walker PR and First Impressions Marketing, which also publishes What’s Happening Birmingham.
Each year, we we bring you all the most important news about events and happenings surrounding the Magic City Classic, which continues to be the country’s No.1 HBCU football game. The event attracts at least 50,000 fans and nearly as many tail-gaters who set up camp each year in a family-reunion style atmosphere. As the event grows, so do the number of national celebrities.
This year, the Magic City Classic Ambassador is none other than hip-hop impresario, actor, director and producer, Ice Cube. And for the second time in its history, the game has generated more than $1 million in scholarships for the bowls’ schools, Alabama A&M and Alabama State University, according to event director Faye Oates of Bruno Event Team.
In all, the Magic City Classic generates an economic impact of more than $18 million on the Birmingham region. Birmingham welcomes your money, and if you want to know the best places to spend it the 2013 MCC party, Urbanham.com and our guide will show you where it’s going down this weekend. Enjoy the festivities!
