The Ensley Community will host a forum 6 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at the East Ensley Public Library for candidates running for the District 9 City Council seat.
Residents want to discuss their concerns about their neighborhoods with the candidates who are running for the seat being vacated by City Council President Roderick Royal.
The issues planned for discussion include:
- overgrown lots
- vacant housing
- drug houses and crime
- parks and green space
- Downtown Ensley revitalization
- zoning and land use
The forum moderator will be Vickii Howell, editor-in-chief of Birmingham View Magazine Online. The East Ensley Public Library is located at 900 14th Street Ensley, Birmingham, AL 35218.
Ensley Community, one of 23 in Birmingham, is comprised of six neighborhoods: Dolomite, West Ensley, Oak Ridge, Sherman Heights, Tuxedo, Wylam.
