The NAACP will host a townhall meeting and a public hearing Thursday in light of recent incidents with the Birmingham Police Department.
Hezekiah Jackson, IV, president of the Metro Birmingham Branch NAACP said the meeting and hearing is in response to numerous concerns to the NAACP regarding recent allegations with our Birmingham Police Department.
However, the meeting does not target any specific case at this time. Citizens and Community stakeholders are invited to voice their opinion onthe state of service of the police deparment and make recommendations.
The meetings will be recorded, a written comment period provided and a report submitted to the City of Birmingham officials via the City Council Public Safety Committee.
Please share with others interested in taking a formal position or just being informed.
