Community Investing 101 Workshop This Saturday
Getting ready for community investment is more than a notion.
Communities have to get more involved in economic development. period. It's not enough for a community to say "We don't want _____ corporation here." They have to be prepared with shovel ready companies that are built the way they want them to run.
In order to do that, a community must be prepared to harvest ideas, accelerate those ideas and finance them.
On Saturday, June 14, Bob Dickerson of the Birmingham Business Resource Center will join Jessica Norwood of Emerging Changemakers in a forum to discuss about how the community can invest in businesses. The duo will talk about peer-to-peer lending, online crowdfunding and investment clubs as strategies.
