Dear Visitor,
"Fuel Your Dreams Tour" Introduces Minority Youth to World of NASCAR
The “Fuel Your Dreams Tour” (FYDT) -- an integrated racing experience offering one-of-a-kind, hands-on exposure to the racing industry -- drives into Birmingham March 13-14.
The tour offers youth and the community two days of interaction with racing professionals, pit-crew equipment, racing gear, and simulation driving. It also features a speaking engagement with one of the most powerful men in the sports and entertainment industry, Max Siegel.
As the owner of Rev Racing, a NASCAR-driven race team for minority drivers, Siegel brings to the community his expertise developed over the last 20 years as an executive in the sports and entertainment fields. He created the Max Siegel, Inc. Youth Foundation (MSIYF) to educate and open doors to opportunities in sports to improve the lives of youth, and the Rev Racing Motorsports Academy in Indianapolis, where participants can experience firsthand the elements of a real life race shop.
Having grown up in poverty, drugs and overcoming obstacles himself, Siegel is offering youth a chance up and out of similar circumstance through sports racing, an industry that young people of color especially don't often consider. Besides being a driver, the racing industry also provides careers in pit crews and other related jobs.
Alabama Partners In Progress is working in partnership with MSIYF to bring these opportunities to cities in Alabama, starting in Birmingham. "We want to open the eyes of youth, their parents and their community to this industry and what it means to be part of it," says Cedric Brown, president of Alabama Partners In Progress (APIP).

On Thursday March 13, students from various schools can experience race car driving through simulators and learn about the industry from professionals.
On Friday March 14, APIP will host a luncheon for businesses and individuals who want to sponsor the Fuel Your Dreams Tour statewide, support children from Birmingham to attend the Motorsports Academy, and expand development of a similar academy in Alabama. Max Siegel will be the luncheon's keynote speaker.
