Congratulations on your efforts
Congratulations to the creative staff and publisher of the Birmingham View, Birmingham’s new urban community and economic development magazine. As Councilor of District 2 in the City of Birmingham, I am fully supportive of what this magazine is attempting to accomplish – that is, to reverse the negative and, in most cases, completely unjustifiable but all too common negative images and associations some people may have about our beautiful, historic city.

Birmingham is a city full of promise, a collection of people with heart and a network of communities that care. As a legislator in the largest city in the State of Alabama, I have come to realize the potential of our great city. Issues like building a mass transportation system, equal funding for our children and providing a quality education are all crucial to this city’s future. I am encouraged by your editorial approach to these issues and the attempt to find solutions to very complicated matters that affect us all.

Again, congratulations on your venture and for having the heart to do what needs to be done and the courage to make a difference.

From Our Online Readers...

UAB Student
I enjoyed reading the online Birmingham View.  I knew of the magazine but had not gotten the chance to actually read it.  It's good to see a publication like this in Birmingham .

I would also like to call to your attention the UAB Chapter of the NAACP.  I serve as president of the organization.  We have been doing things at the University that has really caused major changes.  Our website is www.uabnaacp.com .  I would love for you to visit it.  Maybe you can do a story about us or something.

A New Fan
I'm glad to see that Birmingham has produced a magazine that not only reaches out to Blacks but to every and any one who wants to see the region move forward.

I encourage everyone to read the featured articles -- and especially the one detailing Charlotte 's progress, civic cooperation, and their citizen's can-do-anything attitude.

For those who want a better Birmingham , it's encouraging, to say the least.

Thoroughly Impressed
I first must thank you for developing such a wonderful resource for those in the Birmingham area. Something of this caliber was well overdue. I reside in Birmingham (the Hoover area) while currently attending Auburn University .

I'm thoroughly impressed with your magazine's articles and much needed insight. I view your publication as a call to action that's needed to motivate the sleeping giant that is Birmingham. Our residents need to realize the jewel that they have on their hands and I believe the Birmingham View can help us, collectively as citizens, to manifest that vision. You can definitely count on my continued support.

God Bless (Matt. 6:33 ),
