Event Reminder:
BABJ's Newsmaker Event "A Conversation with Shirley Sherrod" is set for tomorrow, Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Birmingham Museum of Art.
Tickets are available online at the website of the Birmingham Association of Black Journalists.
Tickets are $30 for the main event, which starts at 7 p.m., and $50 including a pre-event reception at 6 p.m.
The Newsmaker event is a fundraiser for BABJ's scholarship fund.

Economic Development Summit "Empowered to Prosper"
Birmingham City Councilor Lashunda Scales, chair of the council's Economic Development Committee, is coordinating a second annual event aimed at giving small buisness owners the information, contacts, and network to help them grow their enterprises and create jobs.
The FREE event will be held tonight at the Innovation Depot, with doors opening at 5 p.m. with heavy refreshments available on a first-come, first-served basis.
